What to Expect:
Before your Botox treatment, your skin will be cleansed at the treatment site. Dr. Bajaj will inject a specific amount of Botox into the muscle beneath the wrinkle to be treated. The deeper and more severe the wrinkle, the larger the dose of Botox must be to treat it. When the Botox solution enters the muscle, it blocks the communication between the nerves and the muscle. This limits the contraction of the muscle. Over a period of several days with minimal movement, the wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out.
Recovery:
When you leave our practice following your Botox treatment, you can expect little to no downtime. You will, however, need to remain upright for about six hours and avoid alcohol and exercise during this time.
It's not uncommon to experience some redness of the injection site, but any minor cosmetic side effects will be short-lived. Let Dr. Bajaj know if any side effects you experience worsen or linger for more than a day or so.
About four to eight days after your Botox treatment, you will begin to see the wrinkle-diminishing effects. The benefits of your Botox treatment can last several months. As the effects begin to wear off, you may choose to return to Dr. Bajaj's practice for follow-up Botox treatments.
